A move raises a lot of questions, and we would rather answer them now than have you guessing on the day. Below are the ones Main Line households ask us most — how the flat rate is built, what the deposit does, how coverage works, and what happens when winter weather lands on your date. If yours is not here, send it through the quote form and a real person will get back to you.

01 Good to know
Is Premier Movers a licensed and insured moving company?
Yes. Premier Movers is a fully licensed and insured moving company based in Wayne, PA, running our own trucks and uniformed crews. We hold Pennsylvania PUC household-goods authority for moves within the state and federal USDOT and MC numbers for interstate work, and we carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment.
How does your flat-rate pricing compare to hourly?
Most Main Line moves go out as a flat rate that Tom prices up front and writes down — local flat rates open at $395 for a studio or one-bedroom — so you know the full number before you book. If you would rather go hourly, two movers and a truck run $145 an hour and three movers and a truck run $195 an hour, and we waive the usual one-hour minimum. Either way, the price on the sheet is the price you pay.
Do you take a deposit when I book?
Yes, a $150 deposit holds your date on the calendar, and it is credited straight to your final bill — it is not an extra charge. It simply reserves the crew and truck for your day. Everything else is settled when the job is done, at the flat rate we quoted.
What kind of insurance and valuation coverage do you provide?
Every shipment is covered up to $1,000,000 in cargo protection. Released-value coverage at $0.60 per pound is included as standard, and you can upgrade to full-value protection if you want repair-or-replace coverage on higher-value pieces. If your building in King of Prussia or Bryn Mawr needs a certificate of insurance on file, Katie in our office will send it over before move day.
Can you pack for me, or do I have to box everything myself?
We can pack as much or as little as you like. Full-pack service means our crew brings the boxes, paper, and tape and wraps the whole house — kitchens, closets, artwork, and the fragile pieces that make Main Line homeowners nervous. You can also pack the everyday boxes yourself and leave just the breakables and furniture to us. Whatever the split, it is priced into your flat rate.
Do you offer storage if my move-out and move-in dates do not line up?
Yes. We offer short-term storage for the gap between closings or leases, which comes up constantly on the Main Line when a sale and a purchase do not close on the same day. Your belongings stay padded and inventoried in our care, and our crew loads them out and delivers them when you are ready.
Will you handle a long-distance or out-of-state move?
We do. Under our USDOT and MC authority we run interstate moves out of Wayne regularly — New York, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston, Pittsburgh, and the popular Pennsylvania-to-Florida runs down to Tampa. One Premier truck and one crew handle the whole trip, with a single written flat rate and the same movers loading in Wayne and unloading at the other end.
Are you an actual moving company or a booking service?
Yes — Premier Movers is a fully licensed and insured moving company, not a broker or a matching service. We own the trucks, we employ the crews, and we load and unload your home ourselves. Nobody bids on your job and no third party ever touches your furniture.
How far ahead should I book my move?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most moves, and longer is better for late-spring and summer weekends, which fill up fast around graduation season at Villanova and Bryn Mawr. That said, closings slip and leases end on short notice, so call even if your date is days away — we hold what dates we can, and the $150 deposit locks it in.
02 Why us

A licensed mover, never a middleman

Hire Premier and the truck in your driveway is ours, the crew on the ramp is ours, and our name is on the paperwork. Brokers do none of that — they auction your move to the cheapest bidder and disappear.

Premier Movers
  • Premier’s own trucks and our full-time, background-checked movers
  • A single written flat rate — the figure you sign is the figure you owe
  • One crew handles both ends, from your old door to your new one
  • PA PUC household-goods authority plus USDOT/MC, fully insured
  • A Wayne office and a single point of contact from first call to last box
What a broker does
  • Auctions your job off to whichever carrier bids cheapest
  • Springs new fees and fresh quotes on you come move day
  • Sends a crew you have never met to load your home
  • Leaves you guessing who is actually on the hook
  • Puts a call center between you and the people doing the lifting
