01 Overview

Apartment and high-rise moving across the Main Line

Apartment moves live or die on the details a house move never has — the freight elevator that’s only free until noon, the COI the building won’t waive, the loading dock you share with the unit two floors up. Premier Movers handles those buildings every week, from the King of Prussia high-rises near the mall to the older walk-ups around Suburban Square in Ardmore and the apartments tucked behind Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr. We’re a licensed Pennsylvania mover with our own crews and trucks, so the people who reserve your elevator are the same people who carry the couch.

Main Line neighbors trust Main Line moving crew for a premium move on one written flat rate.

Pricing matches the rest of our local work: $145/hr for two movers and a truck, $195/hr for three, with the one-hour minimum waived. Most studios and one-bedrooms come out cheapest on our flat rate that opens at $395 — we run both numbers and give you the lower one. A $150 deposit holds the date and credits to your final bill.

Before move day we square away the building side:

  • Certificates of insurance naming your building as additional insured, filed ahead of time
  • Freight-elevator and loading-dock reservations coordinated with property management
  • Wall pads, door-jamb guards and floor runners through shared lobbies and corridors
  • Stair-climbing hand trucks for the second- and third-floor walk-ups common in older Main Line buildings

Parking is its own battle here. On tight blocks in Ardmore or near downtown Wayne we’ll pull a township permit so the truck isn’t circling for a space two streets over, and we time KOP high-rise moves around the building’s elevator window so a crew isn’t standing idle on your clock. Weather gets factored in too — an icy walk after a January nor’easter changes how we stage the carry, and we’d rather plan for it than slip on it. Every piece is shrink-wrapped and padded, covered at $0.60/lb standard with full-value protection and up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment available. Tell us your building’s name, its move rules and your floor, and we’ll line up the COI, the elevator and the crew before the day arrives. Get a flat-rate quote and we’ll handle the building side for you.

How the price gets set

We give you one flat rate on paper after a short walkthrough or video estimate, drawn from the inventory you actually have rather than a clock running by the hour. The price on the sheet is the whole price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your belongings like ours

Long before the first box is loaded, our truck arrives stocked to guard furniture, protect floors, and cushion anything fragile in those old Main Line homes.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get wrapped and padded on the spot, before anything budges.

Stretch film

Drawers stay latched, cushions stay spotless, and upholstery rides sealed off from dust and Pennsylvania weather.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads go in first so hardwood, banisters, and trim come through untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tops, framed art, and flat screens travel in crates made for them, corners and all.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, tables, and oversized furniture come apart for the haul and go back together at the new address.

Straps, dollies & gear

The right tie-downs and equipment for narrow staircases, finished basements, and the heavy stuff — never a shortcut.

03 Why us

A licensed mover, never a middleman

Hire Premier and the truck in your driveway is ours, the crew on the ramp is ours, and our name is on the paperwork. Brokers do none of that — they auction your move to the cheapest bidder and disappear.

Premier Movers
  • Premier’s own trucks and our full-time, background-checked movers
  • A single written flat rate — the figure you sign is the figure you owe
  • One crew handles both ends, from your old door to your new one
  • PA PUC household-goods authority plus USDOT/MC, fully insured
  • A Wayne office and a single point of contact from first call to last box
What a broker does
  • Auctions your job off to whichever carrier bids cheapest
  • Springs new fees and fresh quotes on you come move day
  • Sends a crew you have never met to load your home
  • Leaves you guessing who is actually on the hook
  • Puts a call center between you and the people doing the lifting

Common questions on this service

My building in King of Prussia requires a certificate of insurance — can you provide one?
Yes, and it's routine for us. The KOP high-rises and the apartments around Suburban Square almost always want a COI naming the building as additional insured before they'll release the freight elevator. Katie in our office handles those requests; just send us the management contact and we'll get it filed ahead of move day.
How much does a one-bedroom apartment move cost?
A studio or one-bedroom often comes out best on our flat rate, which opens at $395. If you've got a heavy load or a long walk-up, the hourly clock at $145/hr for two movers can be cheaper — we quote both so you choose the lower one. A $150 deposit holds your slot.
Do you handle walk-ups and buildings with no elevator?
All the time. A lot of the older Ardmore and Bryn Mawr apartments are second- and third-floor walk-ups. We bring stair-climbing hand trucks and, for heavier loads, add a third mover at $195/hr so the carry up the stairs doesn't drag the whole day out.
