01 Overview

Whole-home moves for Main Line houses, done in a day

A house move is a different animal than an apartment. There’s the attic in the eaves, the finished basement, the dining set that’s been in the same room since 2004, and the staircase that the sofa barely cleared the first time. Premier Movers has been moving Main Line homes since 2011 — center-hall colonials in Bryn Mawr, Victorians in Wayne, big stone houses out toward Devon — and we send a crew sized to the house so the whole thing happens in one day instead of bleeding into two.

Main Line neighbors trust our Wayne moving crew for a premium move on one written flat rate.

We’re a real, licensed Pennsylvania moving company. Our movers wear our uniforms, drive our trucks, and load and unload the same vehicle. Pricing is the same straightforward structure as our local work: $145/hr for two movers and a truck, $195/hr for three, with a flat rate opening at $395 for the smallest homes. A $150 deposit holds the date and comes off the final bill.

Older homes here ask for technique, not muscle. Our crews come ready for it:

  • Beds, oversized sectionals and table legs come apart and go back together at the new house
  • Banisters, newel posts and original woodwork get padded before anything touches them
  • Floor runners protect refinished hardwood and the tile in the foyer
  • Stair-climbing hand trucks handle third-floor walk-ups and the tight turns common in twins and carriage houses

We also plan around the things that trip up moving day on the Main Line — a steep, tree-lined driveway that ices over in winter, a tight township block where the truck needs a Radnor or Lower Merion permit, a flagstone walk that won’t take a loaded dolly. We scout the access ahead of time so there are no surprises at 8 a.m. and the day runs to schedule. Furniture is pad-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, protected at $0.60/lb released value standard with full-value coverage and up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment available, and a $150 deposit holds the date and comes off the final bill. What comes with it

  • A full-house crew of our own movers and a Premier truck sized to your home, dispatched from Wayne
  • Hourly at $145/hr for two movers or $195/hr for three, or a flat rate that opens at $395 for the smallest homes
  • Pad-wrapping and shrink-wrapping of all furniture, plus floor and banister protection for older woodwork
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds, sectionals, table legs and anything that won't clear a narrow staircase whole
  • Standard $0.60/lb released-value protection, optional full-value coverage, and up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment
  • A $150 deposit that holds your date and is credited to the final invoice — no hidden fuel or stair surcharges

How the price gets set

We give you one flat rate on paper after a short walkthrough or video estimate, drawn from the inventory you actually have rather than a clock running by the hour. The price on the sheet is the whole price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your belongings like ours

Long before the first box is loaded, our truck arrives stocked to guard furniture, protect floors, and cushion anything fragile in those old Main Line homes.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get wrapped and padded on the spot, before anything budges.

Stretch film

Drawers stay latched, cushions stay spotless, and upholstery rides sealed off from dust and Pennsylvania weather.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads go in first so hardwood, banisters, and trim come through untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tops, framed art, and flat screens travel in crates made for them, corners and all.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, tables, and oversized furniture come apart for the haul and go back together at the new address.

Straps, dollies & gear

The right tie-downs and equipment for narrow staircases, finished basements, and the heavy stuff — never a shortcut.

03 Why us

A licensed mover, never a middleman

Hire Premier and the truck in your driveway is ours, the crew on the ramp is ours, and our name is on the paperwork. Brokers do none of that — they auction your move to the cheapest bidder and disappear.

Premier Movers
  • Premier’s own trucks and our full-time, background-checked movers
  • A single written flat rate — the figure you sign is the figure you owe
  • One crew handles both ends, from your old door to your new one
  • PA PUC household-goods authority plus USDOT/MC, fully insured
  • A Wayne office and a single point of contact from first call to last box
What a broker does
  • Auctions your job off to whichever carrier bids cheapest
  • Springs new fees and fresh quotes on you come move day
  • Sends a crew you have never met to load your home
  • Leaves you guessing who is actually on the hook
  • Puts a call center between you and the people doing the lifting

Common questions on this service

My house is an old stone colonial with tough staircases — can you handle it?
That's most of what we move. Tyler Brandt's crew specializes in narrow turns, steep landings and third-floor walk-ups in the older Main Line homes. We disassemble what has to come apart, pad the banisters, and take the time to do it right rather than forcing a piece and gouging the plaster.
Will you give me a price for the whole house before moving day?
Yes. We walk the home — in person or by video — count the heavy items and the stairs, and hand you a quote. Bigger homes usually run on the $145/hr or $195/hr hourly clock; a small one-bedroom may be cheaper on the flat rate that opens at $395. A $150 deposit holds the date.
Do you move the whole house in one day?
Most three- and four-bedroom Main Line homes are a single-day move with the right crew size. If you've got a packed finished basement and a full attic, we'll either add a third mover at $195/hr or schedule packing the day before so moving day stays on track.
